Measuring Guide for Compression Stockings

Measuring your legs for compression stockings, support socks, support hose, and gradient compression hosiery:.

  • For knee-highs: measure around your ankle and calf. Then, measure the distance from the floor to the back of your knee.
  • For thigh-high and pantyhose: measure around your ankle, calf, and upper thigh. Then, measure the distance from the floor to your upper thigh (bottom of your buttocks).

An Important Measuring Tip...
If swelling is an issue with you, measure your legs, first thing in the morning, after you get out of bed. This is when swelling is at a minimum, and the size of your legs should remain once the swelling is eliminated. Each of our compression products has a sizing chart on the product page.

Measure around the ankle at the narrowest point, generally above the ankle bone.
Measure around the calf muscle at the widest part.
Measure from the floor to the bend behind the knee.
Measure around the thigh approx. 3" below the gluteal fold (crease of buttocks).
Measure the distance from the bottom of your buttocks to the floor.

Sizes may differ between various brands of support stockings. Keep in mind that each manufacturer of support hose has their own sizing chart. A medium size in one brand of circulation stockings, may not be a medium in another. Some brands of compression stockings offer petite (shorter) lengths, while others do not. Knowing your measurements will ensure you get compression hosiery that fits properly and comfortably.

I can't afford any of the "standard lines", so I use these instead. They really do work just as well!

There really does seem to be a debate going on over whether economy compression stockings work just as well as regular ones. I've tried both and can say that they definitely.

There's really nothing flashy about them, but you know what? The get the job done.

I recommend ordering these right now...LOOK AT THE LOW PRICE. Since they are so cost effective I can afford to be lots of them, and they really do work.

Terrible hose. The first time I put them on, a hole popped open & I was using the hose gloves, needless to say, no good with a hole. Never again will I buy these. So thin you can almost see thru them, waste of hard earned money.
